License discounts are often offered for spay and neutered animals and pets of senior citizens. Applications and fees are usually available on city websites and can be obtained in-person or by mail. The following agencies provide licenses for dogs and cats in Long Beach metro and Orange County.


Costa Mesa Animal Control

Serves Costa Mesa. Dog licenses are issued through the mail. Visit website for application and list of fees. Applications may also be picked up at the police department.


Dana Point, Garden Grove, Newport Beach and San Clemente Animal Licenses

Laguna Beach Animal Shelter

La Habra Animal Control

Serves La Habra. Discounts for altered dogs and senior citizens. Licenses may be obtained through the mail or in person. 150 N. Euclid St., La Habra.


Long Beach Animal Care Services

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center

Serves Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, and Rancho Santa Margarita. Residents can download an application and a list of fees from the shelter website and either complete in-person or by mail. Renewals can be done on their website.

Santa Ana Licensing
